Following speculation that she might not fit into the tiny gown worn by Marilyn Monroe to sing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy in 1962, the reality star glistened at the 2022 event on Monday in the same bedazzled gown.
While getting her hands on the dress was difficult enough – it took multiple trips to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museums and a lot of security – slipping into the look was even more difficult.

In preparation for the star-studded event, Kardashian, 41, told BFF and Vogue guest host La La Anthony that she lost 16 pounds in just three weeks.
Kim Kardashian claims she went on an intense diet to lose weight so she could wear Marilyn Monroe’s classic gown to the Met Gala in 2022.
“It was like prepping for a play,” Kardashian said of her determination to morphing into Monroe, who also bleached her hair platinum blond and completed the outfit with a white mink shrug.
In the super-tight dress and clear platform heels, Kardashian could barely walk.
The Ripley’s crew “didn’t believe” she could do it, she said, but the “challenge” made her even more committed.
Later that night, Kardashian showed off her hotel room, which was stocked with infinite mini doughnuts and Joe’s pizza, and revealed that she had been sugar and carb-free for “nearly a month.
” The reality personality has also been documenting her intense two-a-day exercises on Instagram, which involve treadmill jogging in a sauna suit.
Kim is no stranger to making sacrifices for the Met. She received breathing lessons in 2019 in order to wear a waist-tightening corset underneath a Thierry Mugler gown for the “Camp”-themed event, and she was unable to sit or use the restroom for the entire night.
In 1962, Marilyn Monroe donned the bejeweled gown to sing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy at the White House.

After mounting the red carpet stairs, Kardashian changed into a replica gown, also owned by Ripley’s, to attend fashion’s biggest night out with boyfriend Pete Davidson.
While Kardashian looked to struggle with the steps last year — with the help of boyfriend Pete Davidson, who was dressed in Dior Men — it appears that the preparation was even more difficult this year.
But, hey, blondes seem to have more fun, don’t they?
She stated, “In a post on her Instagram account Monday night,” “Thank you, Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, for allowing me to unveil this evocative piece of fashion history for the first time since it was worn by the late Marilyn Monroe. I will be eternally grateful for this opportunity.”
